Concept

With the concept board above, I aimed to showcase a glimpse of Beyonce's history and journey by showing her childhood home, family pictures, pictures of when she was younger and old pictures of her and her children. I did this to showcase the side that differs from her persona on stage. This reflects the side of my target audience, the family-oriented and humble characteristics before they embody their diva.

The board above represents the embodiment of a Queen, one of the characteristics of a diva. This is the side that is confident on stage, gracious and humble. The mark-making reflects the energy of the crowd. The red and yellow banner and the blowing of the trumpets reflect royalty, whilst the confident demeanour showcases a powerful performer. Beyonce showcased herself being a Queen simply just by walking into the building in the diva music video with her strong, authoritative walk.

This board shows the playful side of a diva, the vibrant colours shown above shows that divas are still able to enjoy themselves and be happy. Quotes that run through all concept boards are mainly from Beyonce or her mother as I aim to continuously bring back the concept to my inspiration Beyonce.

The above shows Beyonce's childhood in greater depth to relate to the audience. I am making this collection to show that you don't need to start off being a confident, outgoing person to become a diva. The board shows her childhood memories with her friends and family and other activities she had done as a child.

Power is the word that this board embodies. This board also reflects another diva characteristic of being powerful and brave. Putting yourself in situations that you may find uncomfortable but knowing that it will bring you good change. The diva music video shows Beyonce being powerful at the end of the video by creating an explosion and through her strong dance moves.

Red is the main colour for the board above as red is known to be the colour of love which I linked that to being sensual. In the Diva music video, Beyonce's attitude and dress reflected this characteristic indirectly.

Embodying glamour is another characteristic Beyonce showcases in her music video. She does this through the use of her glittery long exaggerated glasses and her song lyrics. In the 'Black is King' movie she also represents this side of her. I decided to add my mother's jewellery to show that anyone can become this simply with the accessories you have at home.

Being a team player is another key aspect when becoming a diva as working with other divas or powerful people can always help you to grow to become a better version of yourself. Helping others to become better is a characteristic that will help you in the long term and Beyonce showcases this through her music video and her 'Homecoming' movie.

The board above showcases boldness, the ability to stand out through your attitude demeanour and clothing. This collection will help you become all of these characteristics simply by putting the outfit of your choice on. The mark-making, print and imagery help reflect this characteristic.

This final concept board shows a combination of pictures throughout her lifetime, from when she was a baby to her now having her own children. The message of this board is to embrace all the different life stages and traits you have had as they have all brought you to this stage no matter if becoming a diva is what you intend to be.
